A casual interview with the artist

After a gap of time J Srividya has showed a new set of paintings based on Tantra and Kundalini.
The artist says his creations are created in a humble heightened state of consciousness. He usually likes to paint sitting on the ground, he says it creates a connection with the mother earth. After a brief meditation he leans over the paper to transcribe the journey of his soul. It is the whole body and soul connection on a medium which brings out the final painting.
He says it’s a tribute to the Goddess of creation the “Bindu” in the Srichakra.
His compositions are constructed tightly with bright colors and complex patterns and textures.
The artist forms his composition with a nameless head or a figure which represents the ego which confronts and plays around in realm of the ever pervading higher consciousness.
The artist further comments that his paintings reflect the inner struggle and experiences in an artistic terms through form and color. The quest of finding one owns self through color and spiritual expression.
It becomes very obvious after one concentrates on his painting for a while when suddenly the painting dawns upon him. It engulfs the seer where the painting becomes a mere reflection of his own self.
